Job Responsibilities:
1. Keep the Chief Engineer informed of the status of all mechanical equipment.
2. Ensure all generators and auxiliary machinery are operational and set to "auto" where appropriate.
3. Maintain engine sumps, fuel oil, and lub-oil tanks at normal levels, and manage inventory of oils and greases.
4. Monitor machinery operation, report abnormal conditions or consumption to the Chief Engineer.
5. Keep the Chief Engineer updated on spares and stores usage, receipt, and storage.
6. Serve as Duty Engineer on call for engine room alarms, typically one night out of three.
7. Adhere to MP2 Professional maintenance requirements.
8. During jacking and maneuvering, ensure associated equipment is in proper working order.
9. Maintain a watch on deck during jacking or as directed by the Chief Engineer.
10. Maintain machinery space watch and monitor Marine Operator Work Station (MOWS) No. 4 during maneuvering, as directed.
11. Prepare work orders and permits, including isolation procedures for maintenance.
12. Diagnose and rectify faults to maximize equipment availability; report defects.
13. Troubleshoot to improve installation efficiency, identify spares needed, and initiate orders.
14. Monitor and control work by vendors and contractors.
15. Support installation recovery from zero level.
16. Record working time and historical data accurately in SAP.
17. Assist with helicopter, supply boat, and tanker operations as part of the Operations Team.
18. Provide input on installation work planning to the Chief Engineer.
Qualifications:
* Department of Transport Certificate of Competency as Chief Engineer Class 1 Motor (STCW.95).
* Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET).
* OGUK and ENG.1 medical certificates.
* Panamanian certification.
* Experience with marine operations and self-elevating platforms.
* H2S breathing apparatus certification.
* Approved gas tester and confined space entry certification.
* Permit to work system awareness.
* Familiarity with computerised planned maintenance systems, STOP, and/or Synergi.
* Manual handling training.
* Company induction covering operations and safety.
* Knowledge of QA/QC and environmental protection.
* Initiative, risk management, communication skills, safety consciousness, flexibility, and adaptability.
* Self-motivation, ability to work at height, confined space entry, and lone working.
* Experience in the offshore industry is advantageous, including roles as Second Engineer on lift boats, jack-up rigs, or supply boats.
