Our Company Vestey Foods UK is a fourth-generation family business that operates in the sourcing, development, production, and distribution of food products. It provides a wide range of food products for foodservices, retailers, public institutions, wholesalers, and manufacturers in the UK and in Ireland. Role Purpose The role of the HR Advisor is to deliver effective end to end recruitment service, support the enhancement and promotion of the employer brand, facilitate positive employee experience and high engagement aligned to our values, across multiple sites. Promote employee wellbeing, coordinate employee recognition programs, and contributed to the company’s ambitions in Giving Back to Communities. Maintain accurate employee records and ensure GDPR compliance. The HR Advisor will be the first point of contact for queries on policy and procedures and provide support in employee relations matters as required. This role is a fixed term contract until 14 August 2026. Main duties / responsibilities Employee experience & engagement * Support the review of people practices and its impact on the employee experience throughout the employment cycle. * Create and maintain onboarding approaches that positively impact employee engagement from the start of the employment journey. * Coordinate the administration of the employee recognition programme. Employer brand & communication * Support the review and enhancement of the employer brand. * Use online platforms to promote the brand and job opportunities. * Work with Group, business units and functions, to develop intranet pages and curate content. Drive user engagement and experience. * Work with business units and functions to curate the timely publication of the monthly Round-Up. Recruitment & onboarding * Partner with hiring managers to develop job descriptions and conduct interviews. * Use different sourcing channels such as social media channels, jobs boards and institutions to attract diverse candidates and fill roles. * Oversee the onboarding process for new employees, ensuring a smooth transition into the company and statutory compliance. Employee wellbeing & volunteering * Support the development and implementation of programs that promote employee health and wellbeing. * Work with the mental health / wellbeing champions, coordinate quarterly committee sessions to discuss the status of our business and agree actions. Support the implementation of agreed actions. Administration & reporting * Maintain accurate employee records, people and communication systems. Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements and good practices. * Prepare reports and analysis of People metrics and trends relating to recruitment, onboarding, turnover, intranet engagement, volunteering, wellbeing, right to work, and ad hoc reporting as required. * Carry out salary and benefits benchmarking to understand the company’s position in the market and ensure competitiveness. * Prepare and issue contracts of employment, associated letters, and documents. * Ensure exit interviews are carried out. * Maintain accurate records of images for use in communication and ensure these are used in accordance with internal procedure, permission granted, and GDPR requirements. The person * Strong experience at HR/People Advisor level in a multi-site FMCG business, preferably food. * An experienced recruiter with a passion for strong brand representation. * Good understanding of employment law and progressive people practices. * Excellent understanding and use of systems with advanced Microsoft skills, with a strong flair for creating engaging, concise, and relevant content. * Excellent at building strong relationships very quickly. * A strong multitasker who can deliver objectives in a fast-paced environment. * Exceptionally well organised with a keen eye for detail. * Excellent communicator both verbally and in writing, and comfortable communicating at all levels. * Confident presenter with the ability to influence and negotiate with key stakeholders. * Exhibits a high level of confidentiality and discretion. * Implementer – ability to drive through initiatives. * Ability to travel between sites. This role is based at our Main Office in Redhill, Surrey with 1-2 days a week at our Foodservice Office in Godalming, Surrey. National travel to other sites occasionally when required
