Overview
Site Engineer - Electrical or Mechanical. Perm. Preston or Port Talbot (Working away from home during the week).
Salary: Up to £45k pa.
Responsibilities
* Install, service and maintain a range of doors, including all associated hardware and components (NPSA/CPNI rated where applicable). The range includes sliding-folding/bi-fold doors, side-hinged doors and fire doors. Doors can be mechanically or electrically operated.
* Install and maintain doors from other manufacturers as required.
* Provide an innovative and technically aware approach to problem solving.
* Comply with all Health & Safety requirements. CSCS card is the minimum; Supervisors require SSSTS cards.
* Lead or be a member of a team of fitters to ensure projects are completed on time and to high standards.
* Work with power tools (drills, grinders, etc.).
* Complete and return all HSE and company paperwork after project completion.
* Carry out appropriate audits and checks on Rhino equipment to relevant standards.
* Receive and action written and verbal instructions as required.
* Train and supervise all team members to ensure adherence to safety documentation.
* Candidates must live within a commutable distance of the depot (no dedicated vehicle provided). Based at Preston or Port Talbot.
* General working hours: 8:00–16:30 Monday to Thursday, 14:00 finish on Friday.
* Much of the work requires Security Clearance, including background checks, references for the previous 3 years, residential checks, a medical, and random drugs and alcohol checks.
* Other qualifications required: IPAF, PASMA (the company will pay for these for the right candidate; costs may be reimbursed if the candidate leaves within one year).
* This role is national, so the candidate will work away from home for a large percentage of the time, which could include weekends, and travel to site depending on location.
Qualifications
* CSCS card (minimum).
* SSSTS for Supervisors.
* IPAF and PASMA certificates.
* Ability to work with power tools and electrical/mechanical door systems.
* Willingness to travel and work away from home as required.
