About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our maintenance and engineering team. This hands-on role involves building, servicing, and maintaining a wide range of industrial equipment in both workshop and field environments.
Key Responsibilities
Workshop & Field Maintenance
* Build, strip down, inspect, and service mechanical/hydraulic equipment (e.g. paint pumps, blast pots, ventilation systems, high-pressure washers)
* Perform routine maintenance and reactive repairs to rental fleet equipment
* Complete pre-delivery inspections (PDIs) and post-hire assessments
Site Services Support
* Support installation, mobilisation, and demobilisation of equipment on client sites
* Attend breakdowns and perform minor on-site repairs
* Comply with all client site-specific safety protocols
Documentation & Compliance
* Maintain accurate service records and inspection logs
* Ensure compliance with PUWER, LOLER, ATEX, and internal quality procedures
Team Collaboration
* Work closely with Rental, Stores, and Engineering teams to coordinate equipment availability
* Report recurring faults or opportunities for equipment/process improvement
* Support mentoring of junior staff and apprentices when needed
Requirements
* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent as a mechanical fitter or maintenance engineer
* Experience working on heavy/industrial equipment
* Competence with hand tools, power tools, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
* Ability to read mechanical drawings and manuals
* Basic electrical awareness (advantageous)
* Experience in industrial, marine, or offshore environments (preferred)
* Full UK driving licence (essential)
