The role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our well-established Light Aircraft Flying Task (LAFT2) contract, providing class-leading support to the UK Ministry of Defence. You’ll take on a dynamic and rewarding role that combines technical expertise with training delivery, making a real difference to the development of future licensed aircraft engineers.
Day-to-day, you’ll be:
1. Developing and delivering training packages that meet regulatory standards.
2. Maintaining and updating training materials to ensure compliance.
3. Providing technical support on airframe and propulsion systems.
4. Ensuring adherence to Part, Part 66, and Part regulations.
5. Collaborating with internal teams and stakeholders to meet business needs.
This role is full time working 40 hours per week, you’ll split your time between:
6. 20 hours on-site at LAFT2 Leuchars fulfilling aircraft technician duties.
7. 20 hours hybrid developing and delivering training packages to trainee Licensed Aircraft Engineers.
Essential experience of the Licenced Aircraft Engineer Instructor and Technician:
8. Proven experience in training delivery and curriculum development (Part 66 & Part ).
9. Maintaining training materials and ensuring compliance.
10. Strong technical skills in aeronautical engineering (Level 3 or equivalent).
11. In-depth understanding of aircraft systems and maintenance procedures.
12. Knowledge of relevant aviation regulations.
Qualifications for the Licenced Aircraft Engineer Instructor and Technician:
13. Certification of Education in a teaching/training qualification.
14. Experience in a Part training environment.
15. City & Guilds Level 3 in Aeronautical Engineering.
