Overview
The Shipping Coordinator ensures the efficient and compliant movement of goods both domestic and international. This role involves managing documentation, liaising with carriers and internal teams, and maintaining accurate records to support timely deliveries and regulatory adherence. Salary depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities
Documentation & Compliance
* Prepare shipping documents (e.g., bills of lading, customs forms, shipping labels)
* Ensure compliance with import/export regulations and company policies
* Verify commodity codes and coordinate with customs brokers
Logistics Coordination
* Schedule pickups and deliveries with carriers and freight forwarders
* Track shipments and proactively resolve delays or discrepancies
Communication & Support
* Respond to customer inquiries regarding delivery timelines and costs
Systems & Reporting
* Update internal systems with booking, tracking, and delivery data
* Generate reports on shipping performance and carrier metrics, cost analysis and least rate shipping
Skills & Qualifications
* Strong understanding of logistics, customs procedures, and transportation regulations
* Proficiency in shipping software and Excel-based tracking tools, plus use of Sage 100 an advantage
* Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities
* Clear communication skills across departments and with external partners
* Prior experience in shipping, logistics, or supply chain coordination preferred

Pay: £25,000.00-£27,000.00 per year
