Transport planner

We are recruiting for a Transport Planner to support a dynamic and fast-paced logistics operation. This is a people-centric role focused on driver scheduling rather than route planning. You will be responsible for coordinating rotas for upto 130 drivers across multiple categories ensuring the right people are in place to deliver consistently excellent service.

Key Responsibilities:
* Build and manage weekly and monthly driver rotas, ensuring full shift coverage.

* Allocate clusters of drivers to delivery routes in line with operational requirements.

* Communicate clearly with drivers regarding shift patterns, availability, and changes.

* Work closely with transport managers and HR to manage absences, holiday cover, and last-minute adjustments.

* Ensure compliance with working time directive and all relevant driver regulations.

* Keep accurate records of driver schedules, hours, and changes.

* Cultivate strong relationships with the driver team, promoting a supportive and proactive working culture.

Ideal Candidate:
1. Background in logistics, transport, or workforce planning (non-route focused).

2. Experience managing or coordinating large driver teams.

3. Friendly, confident communicator a true people person.
