Job Summary:
We are offering a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and passionate Chef / Cook to support the Head Chef and oversee all kitchen areas, delivering high-quality restaurant-standard meals to our residents—without long weeks or split shifts.

This role requires a motivated, driven candidate with genuine warmth to provide an enjoyable dining experience for residents. You will assist in menu development, food preparation, cooking, ordering, and maintaining food safety and hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement nutritious, well-balanced, and varied menus catering to dietary needs and preferences
* Prepare meals to a high standard, ensuring taste, presentation, and quality
* Support and supervise the kitchen team
* Maintain high standards of food preparation and presentation
* Ensure compliance with Food Safety & Hygiene Regulations
* Control portions and minimize waste
* Meet individual dietary requirements
* Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization in the kitchen
* Monitor stock levels, rotate stock effectively, and place orders as needed
* Deputise for the Head Chef when required
Food Safety and Hygiene:
* Regularly audit health and safety, food hygiene, and HACCP compliance
* Complete documentation for inspections
* Ensure the kitchen adheres to all health and safety regulations
* Conduct regular inspections of practices and equipment
Resident and Staff Engagement:
* Engage with residents and staff to understand dietary needs and preferences
* Collaborate with the care team to meet nutritional needs
* Communicate effectively across departments
* Show courtesy and respect to residents and relatives
Qualifications and Experience:
* Proven experience as a Chef / Cook, preferably in a care home, healthcare, or hospitality
* Competent in preparing breakfast, lunch, and dinner with fresh produce
* Pastry and bakery experience is advantageous
* Professional culinary qualifications
* Knowledge of allergens, dietary needs, and nutrition for the elderly
* Strong team supervision skills
* Understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations
* Creative culinary skills and organizational ability
* Compassionate, patient, and passionate about resident wellbeing
*Candidates without current visa or right to work in the UK are unlikely to be suitable due to certificate restrictions.*
