CNC Machinist (mainly Turning) with Fanuc control experience required for precision manufacturer based in Folkestone, Kent. Day shift, Early Finish Fridays. Permanent and Immediate start available. Great salary and bonus scheme, 28 days holiday (increasing with time), plus other benefits. Working hours are 08:00 to 17:30 Monday-Thursday, and 08:00 to 12:00 Friday.
This small but long established (1926) and developing business makes innovative, high-quality test equipment for use in the construction, offshore, marine, subsea, medical and fabrication industries. Reporting to the Production Manager a CNC Machinist is required to support their engineering department, to make components for their products.
The majority of the Company’s products contain parts manufactured within the Machine Shop, and the production and quality of those parts is key to the Company’s success. The Machinist is a key skilled person within the Machine Shop, with knowledge & expertise in the processes used. The workshop is equipped with two Doosan Lynx LSYB2100 lathes and a Doosan VMC 4500, all of which have Fanuc control, along with a Haas TL1 toolroom lathe, a small fly-press and guillotine, and a variety of bench and fitting tools.
CNC Machinist Requirements
* Time-served / qualified machinist who may have worked as Machinist, Setter, Turner or Programmer.
* Capability and experience in use of CNC & manual machine tools, bench tools and fitting.
* Able to read & interpret drawings, and to generate CNC machine instructions
* Appropriate capability in written & spoken English
* Right to live & work in the UK
CNC Advantageous Attributes
* Further training and qualifications in machine shop practice, production and or manufacturing engineering.
* CAD capability, ideally SolidWorks, CAD-CAM training, toolmaking experience.
CNC Machinist Responsibilities, Goals & Objectives
Manufacture of machined components in line with defined production schedules
* Production of defined batches of parts using the NC lathes, VMC & other tooling
* Inspection of first-off and last-off parts
* Data reporting within manufacturing (ERP) system
* Non-conformity reporting
* Maintenance of capital and other manufacturing assets
* New Product design support
