Due to the expansion of our current services, we are calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals! Mencap is seeking passionate Support Workers to join our team in Banbridge, Northern Ireland.
As a Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs.
From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you’ll play a vital role in their lives.
What we're looking for:
* Someone caring, patient, and genuinely passionate about supporting others.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
* A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
* Support with finances (paying bills, shopping, etc.)
* Active support to reduce social isolation through social groups and activities.
* Support with personal care, including helping people get ready for the day, medication support, and assisting with showering and bathroom needs.
* Using Positive Behaviour Support Strategies to improve quality of life.
Contract options:
* Full-time: 37.5 hours
Our services operate 24 hours. Rota planning is done at least 4 weeks in advance, allowing you to plan your personal and social life!
* Days: Between 07:45-22:30
* Sleep-ins: 22:30-07:45
Sleep-in roles include an enhanced flat rate payment of £63.70.
