Your Role

We’re building a new Permanence service for children in care, alongside our Locality social work teams who support families from first assessment through to the end of care proceedings. We’re looking for passionate social workers and team leaders to join both. About You
Our children and families deserve social workers who are hard-working, passionate about making a difference, and want children to reach their full potential. You’ll also be a team player, able to share your knowledge with others and continue to learn.
You will build strong relationships and use creative, systemic skills to identify children and young people’s needs, ensuring their voices are central. By recognising needs and risks, you will develop effective plans that create lasting change.

About Us
In Stockport, the vision is for all children to have the best start in life. Stockport Family brings together education, health and social care services to meet complex family needs. We work holistically with a model of restorative practice where relationships are central to everything we do. We have experienced leaders and a dedicated social work workforce development team providing reflective and clinical supervision, plus innovative support services for families.
Our commitment to staff includes direct access to a team leader and two senior practitioners on each team, overseeing six social workers; a strong workforce development program; support for ASYE (one-year series of practice development sessions); protected time for CPD; a yearly professional development review; a solid induction with gradual increase in caseload; high-quality reflective supervision; access to specialist advice; and corporate induction to help new starters settle in.
