Job Role: Junior Buyer / Assistant Category Manager
Contract Type: 12 Months FTC or Secondment
Location: Sandford Gate Oxford/ Re-locating to Aylesbury
Salary: £30, to £35, depending on experience
The Orders of St John Care Trust are looking to recruit a Junior Buyer / Assistant Category Manager on a 12-month fixed term contract to support the procurement function to deliver best value for the Trust in all procurement activity and to ensure that supply risks are minimised.
The role will support the Head of Procurement and Category Managers in all aspects of the procurement lifecycle such as requirements gathering, compiling documentation, undertaking evaluations and contract negotiations and managing supplier performance. Also supporting internal stakeholders with procurement queries, and policy compliance. There is an opportunity for occasional project work and taking ownership for some low-risk category areas.

About the role
It is an exciting time to join the Trust as we are making a significant investment in our estate and technology roadmap. To help us achieve efficiencies and minimise waste we will be looking for an individual to support some of the following activities:
1. Work with the Head of Procurement and Category Managers to support their delivery plans.
2. Undertake simple tenders from RFI / ITT to conclusion.
3. Develop supplier relationships that will drive innovation, continual improvement and best practice.
4. Maximise ROI on spend with third parties.
5. Oversee new supplier requests.
6. Signpost colleagues to preferred suppliers.
7. Oversee the day-to-day management of the Amazon Business account.
About you
You will have demonstrable experience of key procurement activities, so that you can confidently support the procurement function.
Alongside this you will have strong communication skills, good analytical and numerical skills as well as high levels of self-organisation.
