Your new role
* An exciting opportunity for an Manufacturing Support Technician to join our team!
* You will be a key member of our Manufacturing team and will provide support for our Manufacturing of life changing cell and gene therapies. The Manufacturing support team are responsible for performing a number of clean rooms housekeeping activities in line with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
* The ideal candidate will have experience working in a GMP clean room production environment or similar controlled scientific environment. Holding at least an HNC in Life Sciences or a related subject would be advantageous.
* Key responsibilities supporting manufacturing include:
o Material requisition according to defined bill of materials for both Manufacturing and cleaning/sanitisation activities.
o Material kit checks.
o Material transfer (Unclassified to Grade D to Grade C to Grade B) using peeling, disinfectant or vaporised hydrogen peroxide technologies.
o Material reconciliation.
o Working within both unclassified and Graded areas.
o Daily facility record keeping.
* Key responsibilities supporting cleaning/sanitisation:
o Pre-manufacturing daily cleaning/sanitisation activities (floors and surfaces).
o Weekly cleaning/sanitisation activities including equipment.
o Post contractor and/or post shutdown cleaning/sanitisation (floors, walls, ceilings and surfaces).
o Processing and disposal of biological and general laboratory waste.
o Daily facility record keeping.
* All activities performed to the highest standards of Good Manufacturing Practice according to Standard Operating Procedures.
* All work performed in a clean room environment.
* All record keeping performed to the highest legible written standards.
* Operating equipment e.g. VHP, material transfer hatches.
* Management and processing clean room garments and lab coats for initial use and subsequent laundry.
* Performing daily equipment checks.
* Calibrating simple equipment and arranging calibration of more complex items.
* Close liaison and communication with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, QA and QC.
* Provide support out of hours, weekend and overtime cover as required.
* Ensure confidentiality of all information relating to clients/RoslinCT processes.
* Compliance with all RoslinCT Health and Safety policies and procedures.
* Performing tasks as reasonably expected by the Manufacturing Support Lead.
About you
* You will be able to demonstrate experience working in a regulated environment such as a scientific laboratory, a manufacturing environment, a hospital, a pharmacy, or a care home.
* You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a proven track record in building effective relationships with stakeholders across the organisation.
* Ability to handle multiple priorities in a very dynamic environment.
* You must have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other planning tools as appropriate.
* Excellent attention to detail and administration and record keeping skills.
* Ability to learn and share knowledge with the management team and the wider team where appropriate.
Qualifications
* You will hold an HNC in Life Sciences or a related subject, or equivalent training and experience.
