Job Description:
This is a great opportunity to join our dedicated QSSHE team at Perenco, where you will be responsible for delivering the Occupational Hygiene program.
The primary focus is on anticipating, recognizing, evaluating, and controlling workplace health risks across Perenco UK operations in the Southern North Sea. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with statutory provisions, industry guidelines, and promoting a positive approach to workplace health risks.
This position is based in Norwich, working Monday to Friday, with some travel to offshore and onshore sites as needed.
Key Responsibilities Include:
* Work with medic/HSEA’s and operational teams to review Health Risk Assessments, identifying hazard categories, health impacts, routes of entry, and required monitoring or surveillance programs.
* Deliver occupational hygiene plans related to chemical, physical, biological, psychosocial, and ergonomic hazards, including:
o Management of hazardous substances and COSHH risk assessments
o Monitoring exposures to substances like benzene, toluene, mercury, lead, chromium, solvents, welding fumes, and toxic gases
o Asbestos management and surveys
o Noise, vibration, radiation, thermal hazards, and other environmental assessments
* Recommend and design control strategies.
* Monitor and evaluate control measures such as LEV, PPE, and RPE systems.
* Deliver occupational hygiene training, including asbestos awareness and PPE use.
* Conduct inspections and audits across operational sites to ensure standards are met.
* Maintain calibration systems for hygiene equipment.
Key Requirements Include:
* Occupational Hygienist with BOHS certification or working towards it, with relevant degree or modules.
* At least 2 years of experience in occupational hygiene measurement techniques.
* Strong drive and passion for workplace health and safety.
* Excellent communication skills for diverse audiences.
* Ability to meet deadlines and produce high-quality work.
