We are looking for a dedicated Payroll Assistant to join our growing Financial Service team in Glasgow. With hybrid working options available, they offer a flexible and supportive working environment.
As a Payroll Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for our employees. You will work as part of a collaborative finance/payroll team, contributing to the smooth running of all payroll operations in line with current legislation and internal policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately process monthly payrolls from start to finish, including new starters, leavers, changes, and deductions.
Ensure compliance with statutory regulations including PAYE, NI, SSP, SMP, and auto-enrolment pension contributions.
Handle payroll queries from employees and management in a timely and professional manner.
Assist with payroll year-end procedures including P60s and P11Ds.
Liaise with HMRC and other third parties as required.
Support payroll reporting and reconciliation activities as part of the wider finance team.Essential Requirements:
CIPP Payroll Technician Certificate or equivalent professional qualification.
Previous experience working in a payroll function, preferably in a medium to large organisation.
Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation and best practices.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficiency with payroll software and Microsoft Excel.
