The Opportunity
We're looking for someone enthusiastic and collaborative to join our CPD team in Scotland, ideally in Edinburgh but we're also open to Glasgow. You'll be part of a team shaping sustainable and inclusive futures for towns and cities, working on a wide range of placemaking, transport and infrastructure projects across the UK and internationally. This role offers the chance to work directly with clients, contribute to bids and business development, and help deliver projects that make a meaningful difference to communities.

You'll support and manage work across strategy, transport planning, business cases, regeneration and sustainability, while building strong relationships with public sector bodies, city governments, international organisations and infrastructure operators. Much of your work will involve helping clients navigate complex, long-term development challenges and supporting positive outcomes. You'll collaborate closely with colleagues from different disciplines, including planners, transport specialists, urban designers and sustainability experts, bringing together diverse perspectives on each project.

We Are Expanding Our Teams In Scotland, And Are Looking For Enthusiastic Built Environment Professionals Who Can Support Our Growing Areas Of Work In

* Building the case for investment, including through authoring HMT Green Book compliant business cases
* Vision, strategy and storytelling documents for regeneration, development and infrastructure proposals.
* Strategic urban and regional planning, investment planning and urban governance. Strategic advice on inclusive economic growth and innovation.
* Socio-economic baselining, context setting, data and trend analysis and research.
* Impact assessments, including environmental, socio-economic, equalities, and health for planning and policy.
* Alternative funding, finance and delivery models
* Project delivery advice and management support.

Requirements

* An undergraduate (achieved/predicted minimum of 2:1, or equivalent) or Master's degree in economics, geography, real estate, public policy, business, or another built environment discipline such as town planning.
* Storytelling and written communication: You are able to: write clear and concise reports; prepare high-quality visual and written documents, presentations, and outputs that tell a compelling story; engage and influence audiences; and relay information in a concise and logically structured manner.
* Numerical proficiency, research and analytical skills: You can analyse data, undertake qualitative research and synthesise information.
* Strategic and integrated thinking: You are able to interpret the needs of a wide range of stakeholders, take a strategic view on complex issues and deliver integrated solutions (i.e. recognising when to bring various types of technical expertise to the table).
* You have a clear interest in working on projects related to the built environment, specifically but not limited to urban regeneration, housing, transport and net zero. You also have an interest in current affairs relating to the sector.
