Overview
The Accounts Assistant role in the Leisure, Travel & Tourism industry involves supporting the Accounting & Finance department with essential financial tasks. This position is ideal for someone with a keen eye for detail and a passion for maintaining accurate financial records.
Responsibilities
* Working in Xero for all aspects of accounts
* Managing the Purchase & Sales Ledger and Fixed Asset Register
* Invoicing events, competitions (G4P tour) and adhoc sales
* Ensuring collection of debtors
* Coding and preparing payments for authorisation
* Managing the stock ledger
* Completing bank and credit card reconciliations
* Ensuring staff expenses have been properly coded
* Preparing Quarterly VAT returns for review
* Processing refunds to players
* Working with venue partners to agree revenue share payments
* Submit Payroll for all staff to external agency
* Carry out monthly reconciliations on bank accounts - UK and Spain
* Help with production of Management and Statutory Accounts
* Liaising with suppliers and resolving queries
* Charging coaches for court usage
* Invoicing for events, corporate packages, competitions, late payments and subscriptions (recurring bookings)
* Any other duties consistent with the role - flexibility in a small team.
Profile / Qualifications
* Familiarity with Xero
* Strong Excel and presentation preparation skills
* Basic knowledge of VAT
* Attention to detail and exceptional organisational skills
* The ability to explain financial processes simply to internal and external non accountants
* A can do attitude to managing change
