Job Title: Electrician (Facilities Management)
Location: Manchester - Large Commercial Build
Reporting to: Electrical Supervisor / FM Manager
Job Purpose
We are looking for a qualified Electrician to join the Facilities Management team on a large commercial site in Manchester. The role involves delivering planned and reactive electrical maintenance to ensure all building systems operate safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with regulations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive electrical works.
2. Fault-find, repair, and maintain lighting, power, emergency lighting, and distribution systems.
3. Install, modify, and upgrade electrical systems as required.
4. Complete testing, inspection, and associated certification in line with BS 7671.
5. Ensure all works comply with health & safety legislation and site procedures.
6. Accurately complete job reports, compliance records, and maintenance documentation.
7. Liaise with FM teams, supervisors, and other trades to minimise disruption.
8. Support out-of-hours works and emergency call-outs when required.
Skills & Experience
9. Proven experience as a commercial or FM Electrician.
10. Strong fault-finding and diagnostic ability.
11. Experience working in large commercial environments.
12. Good communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Qualifications
13. NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent).
14. 18th Edition (BS 7671).
15. AM2
16. Testing & Inspection (2391 or equivalent) desirable.
17. ECS / JIB Gold Card preferred.
Desirable
18. FM or building maintenance experience.
19. IPAF, PASMA, or similar site certifications.
