Calibration Engineer - Precision Instrumentation & Measurement
Location: Kidderminster
We are seeking a skilled Calibration Engineer to join our team, reporting directly to the Maintenance and Calibration Manager. This is a hands-on role, focused on ensuring the precision, accuracy, and compliance of all instrumentation, linear measurement, and testing equipment used both onsite and by external customers.
Key Responsibilities
Create, maintain, and follow calibration procedures for a range of instrumentation and linear measurement equipment.
Perform routine calibration and adjustments to ensure equipment accuracy and compliance with internal and external standards.
Coordinate monthly calibration schedules using CMMS and maintain up-to-date asset records.
Produce and manage calibration reports for internal use and external customers.
Ensure calibration assets and documentation are audit-ready at all times.
Maintain and develop calibration lab standards, including 5S practices.
Advise on gauging requirements, wear rates, and replacement needs to support continuous production.
Support quality investigations and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Comply with SHE and statutory Safety, Health, and Environment requirements.
Communicate effectively with colleagues across all levels of the business.
Required Experience & Qualifications
Essential:
Recognised electrical/mechanical qualifications (HNC, HND, BTEC Level 3 or above).
Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent in an engineering discipline.
Proven experience as a calibration engineer with strong mechanical/electrical competency.
Ability to read engineering drawings and use CMMS software.
Experience creating and implementing calibration procedures.
Solid understanding of calibration principles, practices, and theories.
Desirable:
Experience in a manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with ISO9001 calibration standards.
