Classroom Support Assistant
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Classroom Support Assistant to join a specialist SEN setting in Calne. This Classroom Support Assistant role is perfect for someone who truly enjoys supporting children with additional needs and wants to help them grow, learn and feel confident every day.
Classroom Support Assistant - The Role;
As a Classroom Support Assistant, you will support pupils aged 4–19 across a range of classes within the school. Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Providing 1:1 Classroom Support Assistant help as well as small-group support to keep pupils motivated and engaged.
2. Supporting children with a wide mix of needs including ASD, social communication differences, sensory needs, SEMH, and learning difficulties.
3. Helping to maintain a calm, structured and positive learning environment.
4. Assisting with personal care, feeding, and mobility support when needed (training can be provided if required).
5. Building positive, consistent relationships with pupils, teachers and fellow support staff.
6. Working alongside teachers, therapists and other Classroom Support Assistants to ensure pupils receive tailored and consistent support.
7. Using visual prompts, communication tools or structured routines to assist children’s understanding.

Requirements for the Classroom Support Assistant Role
To be considered for this Classroom Support Assistant position, you should:
12. Be patient, calm and adaptable.
13. Have some experience supporting children or young people (in any setting).
14. Be comfortable assisting pupils with complex needs, including personal care.
15. Have strong communication skills and enjoy working as part of a team.
16. Ideally hold a DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one.
17. Be open to ongoing CPD and training to grow within your Classroom Support Assistant role.
Salary
£88.92 – £100.00 per day, depending on experience.
