Diesel Engine Commissioning Engineer – DV Cleared
Location: AWE, Berkshire
On‑Site: 3–4 days per week
Clearance: Active DV required
We’re looking for an experienced Diesel Engine Commissioning Engineer to support commissioning and testing of critical diesel generator systems at a secure government site. This role suits someone confident working in highly regulated environments and able to deliver hands‑on commissioning with precision and independence.
Key Responsibilities
* Commission and test diesel engines and generator systems
* Diagnose faults and resolve technical issues during installation and start‑up
* Produce commissioning records, reports, and technical documentation
* Work closely with engineering and project teams to ensure system readiness
* Maintain strict safety, quality, and security standards
Essential Experience
* Strong background in diesel engine or generator commissioning
* Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and control interfaces
* Skilled in troubleshooting and interpreting technical drawings
* Experience in defence, nuclear, or other high‑security environments
* DV clearance is mandatory
Desirable
* Knowledge of auxiliary systems (fuel, cooling, exhaust)
* Familiarity with generator controls, PLCs, or SCADA systems
