JobSummary:
VSP is seeking askilled Data Analyst to join our team andplay a crucial role in theData Strategy project for establishing an enterprisedata solutionat Virginia State Police. As a Data Analyst you will beresponsiblefor overseeing our data systems and reportingframeworksguaranteeing the integrity and precision of data. Youwill transform raw datainto structured information which will thenbe analyzed to glean insights thatdrive strategic businessdecisions. This position encompasses a comprehensiveanalysislifecycle covering requirement gathering activity executiondesignplanning assessing master data set and complex data systemsdevelopingreports troubleshooting data issues and providingtechnical expertise in datastorage structures data mining datacleansing and supporting adhoc requestsrelated to datamigration.
Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with internal and external teams tounderstanddata needs and objectives. Gather data from primary andsecondarysources ensuring the upkeep of databases and data systems.
2. Detect examineand decode trends or patternswithin intricate datasets. Extract clean and transform data fromdiverse sources foranalysis.
3. Perform dataanalysis to identify trends patterns and anomalies.Examine dataquality applications and functions to ensure accuratemigration.
4. Cleanse data and scrutinizecomputergenerated reports and outputs to identifyand rectify codingerrors. Identify analyze and interpret trends or patternsin complexdata sets.
5. Generate visualizations andreports for stakeholders andcollaborate with the management team todetermine and rank the needs ofdifferent business units.
6. Partnerwith engineering and productdevelopment teams to understand businessrequirements.
7. Employ statisticaltechniques to scrutinize data andproduce actionable business insights.
8. Engagewith SMEs of various departments to specify datarequirements foranalysis projects tailored to their unique businessprocesses.
Qualifications:
* Proven experience as a Data Analyst or relatedrole.Technical expertise regarding data models database design datamining andsegmentation techniques.
* Strongknowledge of and experience with reportingpackages and databases(SQL etc.).
* Proficient in programminglanguages(Python R etc.).
* Strong analyticalskills with the ability to collectorganize analyze and disseminatesignificant amounts of information withattention to detail andaccuracy.
* Adept at queries report writingandpresenting findings. Capable of critically evaluating data toderivemeaningful actionable insights.
* Strongknowledge in Microsoft Office withemphasis on Microsoft Excel.Education and Experience: Bachelors degree in arelevant field (e.g.Data Science Statistics Computer Science).
SKILLS (5years):
* Provenexperience as a Data Analyst or relatedrole.
* Technicalexpertise regarding data models database designdata mining and segmentation techniques.
