About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Daytime Services Lead to join our team, supporting young adults with learning disabilities to live their lives to the fullest. You will be responsible for leading the planning and delivery of engaging daytime activities that promote social interaction, skill development, confidence, and enjoyment.
This role focuses on activity coordination and social development, not on personal care or medication administration, as all individuals attend with their own carer or are independent in their care needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate daily activity sessions tailored to the interests and abilities of young adults with learning disabilities.
- Create a vibrant, inclusive, and safe environment where young people can thrive socially and emotionally.
- Collaborate with individuals, families, and carers to ensure activities meet each young person’s goals and preferences.
- Supervise and support a play worker, ensuring high-quality service delivery and a positive team dynamic.
- Take a proactive role in planning weekly and monthly activity schedules and group events.
- Be the main point of contact for staff, families, and carers in relation to daytime services.
- Ensure health and safety, safeguarding, and inclusion best practices are followed at all times.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to service development as needed.

The Haven Centre
Working Hours (Term Time):
A total of 20 hours per week with activities running during the following times. 6 hours allocated for planning.
- Monday: 9.30am - 12.30pm
- Tuesday: 12.15pm - 3.00pm
- Wednesday: 12.15pm - 3.00pm
- Thursday: 12.30pm - 3.00pm
- Friday: 9.30am - 12.30pm
Additional shifts during holidays, evenings, and weekends may be available, assisting with our other services.
Additional Hours
Available across other services if full-time hours are desired
About You
You’ll be passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with learning disabilities and have the creativity and organisation to plan engaging, meaningful activities.
You're a natural leader, confident in guiding others, and comfortable working independently.
Essential
- Experience working with young adults with learning disabilities.
- Proven ability to plan and lead group activities tailored to a range of needs.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Some supervisory or team leadership experience.
- Organised, proactive, and confident working independently.
- Available to work Monday to Friday daytime hours.
Desirable
- SVQ Level 3 in Playwork, Social Care, or a related field - or willingness to work toward this qualification.
- Experience liaising with families and carers.
