We are seeking an Experienced Chip Shop Server to be the welcoming face of our business and provide efficient, friendly service to all our customers. This is a fast-paced role that requires excellent people skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure, particularly during peak hours.
Key Responsibilities
* Customer Service Excellence: Greet customers warmly, take orders accurately, and ensure every customer receives a positive and friendly experience.
* Order Preparation & Serving: Accurately package and serve a variety of hot food items, including fish, chips, pies, and other menu items, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met.
* Cash Handling & Transactions: Efficiently and accurately handle all financial transactions, including operating the till/POS system, processing cash and card payments, and providing correct change.
* Food Knowledge: Maintain a good understanding of the menu, pricing, and daily specials to assist customers with their choices and answer any questions they may have.
* Cleanliness & Hygiene: Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the serving and customer areas, including counter tops, service utensils, and floors, in line with food safety regulations.
* Stock Management: Assist with front-of-house stock replenishment (e.g., drinks, sauces, packaging).
* Teamwork: Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth and fast service.
Essential Requirements
* Proven Experience: A minimum of [Insert Number, e.g., 1-2] years of experience working as a server in a busy fish and chip shop or similar fast-food/takeaway environment is essential.
* Exceptional Cash Handling Skills: Must be highly proficient and trustworthy in operating a till, processing payments.

* Speed & Efficiency: Ability to work quickly and accurately during busy periods while maintaining quality and attention to detail.

* Hygiene: A good understanding of basic food hygiene practices.

Pay: £12.21-£14.00 per hour
