Role: Class Teacher

Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance
Reports to: Headteacher
Job Purpose
To deliver high-quality teaching within a caring and professional environment, securing good or better outcomes for all pupils and contributing to whole-school improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with school policy.
Assess, record and monitor pupil progress, using data to inform planning.
Prepare and review Individual Learning Plans and contribute to Annual Reviews.
Maintain high expectations for behaviour and learning.
Create a safe, stimulating classroom environment.
Teamwork & Pastoral Care
Work collaboratively with colleagues, LSAs and external professionals.
Lead and deploy support staff effectively.
Support pupils’ SEND and pastoral needs.
Promote positive behaviour and pupil wellbeing.
Professional Responsibilities
Contribute to school improvement and self-evaluation.
Uphold safeguarding, confidentiality and all school policies (Enhanced DBS required).
Engage in CPD and appraisal.
Promote the ethos of the school and Trust.
Undertake reasonable additional duties as required.
Person Specification (Summary)
Essential
Qualified Teacher Status.
Strong understanding of teaching pupils with SEND.
Ability to plan, assess and personalise learning.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Commitment to inclusion, safeguarding and high expectations.
Desirable
Recent relevant CPD.
Counselling/mediation skills.
