We are currently seeking a committed and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Torquay, starting September 2025. This is a full-time role working closely with a Year 1 pupil who has additional learning needs and requires tailored one-to-one support.
* Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a Year 1 student with special educational needs
* Implement strategies outlined in the child’s EHCP and work collaboratively with the SENCO and class teacher
* Support the pupil’s social, emotional, and academic development in line with their individual learning plan
* Help to create a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
* Has previous experience working with children with SEN, particularly in a primary school setting
* Is patient, understanding, and flexible in approach
* Has a good understanding of early years/KS1 curriculum
* Is able to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with staff, parents, and external professionals
* Holds a relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent) – desirable but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
