Qualifications

* MRCS or equivalent qualification.
* FRCS (Urol/FEBU) or equivalent.
* Completed a minimum of four years Specialty Registrar or equivalent training in Urology in the UK or equivalent.

Please note that this post does not carry Postgraduate Dean's approval or training recognition.

Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at point of application is required.

The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC's Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.

Hospital Overview

Addenbrooke's Hospital has one of the longest established robotic programmes in the UK and is also one of the highest volume robotic surgical centres, having undertaken robotic training for over 10 years.


Job Purpose

The purpose of the post is to provide peri/post CCT training and competencies in robotic cystectomy surgery and experience in subspecialist clinics. The post-holder will participate in a middle grade, non-resident 1 in 9 on-call rota.


Department Composition

The Urology department consists of 21 Urology Consultants, including 3 Academic Consultants. The department centralises provision of Urological oncology care including bladder, prostate, kidney and testicular cancers to a large part of the East Anglian Region in addition to fulfilling its District Hospital functions.
