East Riding Pension Fund invites applications for the role of Principal Pensions Officer to lead our Governance and Compliance Team. We are seeking a highly skilled professional with extensive relevant experience, strong leadership, and outstanding communication abilities. In this pivotal role, you will support the Assistant Pensions Manager and Head of Pensions in shaping, developing, and refining administration processes. You will be responsible for upholding excellent pensions services within the Governance and Compliance Team, overseeing regulatory compliance, technical support, staff training, and employer engagement.
You will ensure service quality, robust procedures, and accurate reporting, meeting statutory obligations. A thorough understanding of relevant regulations, actuarial standards, guidance from The Pensions Regulator, and GDPR is essential.
The Team
Based in Goole, East Riding Pension Fund administers the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) for the four unitary Authorities in the region-East Riding of Yorkshire, Hull, North Lincolnshire, and North East Lincolnshire-as well as over 340 local employers and organisations, supporting more than 130,000 active, deferred, and pensioner members.
The Candidate
This position offers considerable scope for managerial development and a central role in enhancing and delivering pensions administration services. We are looking for someone with excellent analytical and organisational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to interpret and apply complex regulations. Strong collaborative and communication skills are crucial, and experience in pensions administration or governance would be a distinct advantage.
You will play a key part in building the team's expertise in LGPS rules and wider pensions legislation and guidance, while leading and supporting colleagues to achieve performance goals.
