Senior Data Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and motivated data engineer to join our growing data team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Microsoft Fabric and will be responsible for building, optimizing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and architectures. You will collaborate with data analysts and software engineers to ensure reliable data availability and efficient processing to support analytics and business decisions.

Every role is vital in delivering peace of mind to our customers. As a Senior Data Engineer, you'll contribute by:
* Designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric components such as Data Factory, OneLake, Dataflows, and Notebooks.
* Developing and managing data models for analytics solutions.
* Creating ETL processes and integrating data from diverse sources into central, governed environments.
* Managing dynamic data ingestion and transformation processes using metadata-driven pipelines.
* Ensuring data quality, security, governance, and compliance across storage layers.
* Monitoring and optimizing performance and cost-efficiency of data solutions.
* Collaborating with BI developers, data analysts, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
* Troubleshooting and resolving data issues.
* Implementing best practices in data engineering, including coding standards, testing, and deployment.
* Documenting data architecture, workflows, and configurations.
What does it take?
If you're ready to energize our business as a Senior Data Engineer, you'll need:
* Proven experience as a data engineer or similar role.
* Experience with Row-Level Security, Tenant-Level Security, and multi-tenant architectures.
* Proficiency in Python, TSQL, Power Query, and KQL.
* Strong understanding of Data Factory, data pipelines, Notebooks, and Lakehouses within Fabric.
* Familiarity with Microsoft security frameworks like Purview and RBAC.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Proficiency in CI/CD practices in Azure DevOps.
Desirable:
* Knowledge of machine learning model lifecycle.
* Experience with Azure Machine Learning or similar cloud ML platforms.
Working arrangements
We support flexible working practices, including remote work. The successful candidate will work part of the week from our Leicester office and the rest remotely.
