About The Role & Who We’re Scouting
As Head of Performance, you’ll play a pivotal leadership role in shaping and delivering the Club’s performance vision. Responsible for overseeing physical performance, sports science, working along side the head of medicine to support nutrition and rehabilitation services, this role will ensure the integration of multidisciplinary expertise to optimise player availability, wellbeing, and long-term development. Working closely with the coaching and senior leadership team, the Head of Performance will be expected to set and drive high standards, lead strategic planning, and contribute to a positive, ambitious, and growth-focused environment. The ideal candidate will meet certain criteria and hold specific qualifications in order for them to be successful within the role -
Essential criteria for the role includes:
MSc in Sports Science, Strength & Conditioning or related discipline.
Minimum 5 years’ experience working in elite sport, preferably with female athletes or in football.
Proven experience in leading multidisciplinary performance teams.
Demonstrated success in performance planning, load management, and injury risk reduction.
Strong leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills.
Familiarity with sports technology platforms (e.g., GPS, athlete management systems, force plates).
Desirable criteria for the role includes:
BASES accreditation, UKSCA certification.
Previous experience within a WSL or international women’s football environment.
Experience developing long-term athlete development frameworks.

In May 2021, LCFC Women were promoted to the FA Women’s Super League. From its formation in 2004, the Club was run on an amateur and semi-professional basis with support from Leicester City Football Club. In August 2020, the Club turned professional after being acquired by King Power International – Leicester City’s parent company – and realigned as a core team in Leicester City’s football operation.
