About The Role
At Salvation Army Homes, we are dedicated to providing comprehensive, quality housing services, support, and resettlement. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone interested in working occasional shifts or short-term placements in a mental health support setting.
You will cover for absences of Mental Health Support Workers due to annual leave, vacancies, training, sickness, etc. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Providing 1:1 and group support
2. Supporting clients with attending appointments
3. Shopping assistance
4. Attending activities with clients
5. Supporting with medication, where required
6. Liaising with external agencies, including health professionals
You will also assist in delivering activities aimed at helping clients transition to independent living, contributing to a holistic mental health support service.
Successful candidates will be required to work in St Andrews in Exmouth and Culverlands in Exeter, covering a range of shifts including sleep-ins and weekends. Shifts may vary from 0800-1600, 1200-2000, 1000-1800, and 0900-2230 at both locations.
About The Candidate
You should have a working knowledge of the needs and support requirements of people with complex mental health needs or experience in another social care setting.

Participation in our 24-hour shift rota and on-call system is ideally required.
