Reporting into the Mechanical Team Leader, you will be part of a team maintaining and repairing plumbing issues on site - ensuring compliance with the Gas Safety regulations for the site wide commercial gas fired installations and associated heating and hot water installations, building services plant and equipment. The role will see you based, full time on a huge MoD PFI contract on a base near Watford
What you’ll do:
1. Perform PPM, statutory compliance tasks and reactive works investigations/repairs
2. Service, test, diagnose and repair process control systems and automatic control devices related to the building services plant and equipment
3. Carry out tasks associated with L8 compliance for the prevention and control of legionella risks
4. Liaise / assist with other services as necessary for the efficient delivery of work activities, workmanship and productivity to comply with the performance standards
5. Perform planned preventative maintenance, statutory compliance tasks and reactive works investigations/repairs on, but not limited to, the gas fired systems on site
6. Service, test, diagnose and repair process control systems and automatic control devices related to the building services plant and equipment
7. Carry out tasks associated with L8 compliance for the prevention and control of legionella risks
8. Liaise / assist with other services as necessary for the efficient delivery of work activities, workmanship and productivity to comply with the performance standards
9. Participate in the site on-call out of hours rota as and when required and requested by Line Manager
What you’ll bring to the role:
10. NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent (including recognised apprenticeship) with either a mechanical or building services bias
11. Proven plumbing experience
12. Working knowledge of other building services and trades
13. Must be able to fully satisfy the Client security clearance minimum requirements (SC)
14. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance of at least SC level (hence you will have resided in the UK for the past 5 years)
This role requires a minimum level of security clearance and may also require a higher level of National Security Vetting. You should be aware that certain levels of clearance or specific projects and/or sites have UK residency requirements; and any dual or multiple nationalities must be declared. Any persons who do not fulfil these residency requirements may be unable to obtain the required level of clearance and would not be eligible to undertake this role.
