Job Title: Technical Data Solutions Architect
Job Description
This role offers the opportunity to shape and deliver high-level and detailed technical data solution designs for a major two-year, full life cycle regulatory change programme. Working from established enterprise data architecture, you will translate strategic direction into robust, scalable data solutions that support regulatory commitments and business objectives. You will collaborate closely with business and technical stakeholders, ensuring that data platforms and analytics solutions are aligned with enterprise strategy and deliver clear business value.
Responsibilities
1. Translate high-level strategic enterprise architecture designs into clear, high-level and detailed technical data solution designs to support a two-year regulatory change programme.
2. Design end-to-end data solutions that align with the established data enterprise strategy and meet regulatory and business requirements.
3. Work closely with the Data Enterprise Architect to ensure solution designs are consistent with enterprise data standards, patterns and principles.
4. Collaborate with multiple business and technical stakeholders to understand requirements, constraints and priorities, and incorporate them into solution designs.
5. Lead and facilitate workshops with stakeholders to gather requirements, validate solution options and explain proposed architectures in an accessible and engaging way.
6. Articulate the business benefits and value of proposed data solutions to non-technical stakeholders, using clear language and strong business acumen.
7. Define solution architectures that leverage key data platforms such as Databricks and SAP Datasphere, ensuring they are secure, performant and maintainable.
8. Work with data engineering and analytics teams to ensure solution designs can be implemented effectively and support full life cycle delivery.
9. Provide architectural guidance on the use of tools such as SAP Analytics Cloud, Power BI and Informatica where appropriate to meet reporting and integration needs.
10. Consider the potential use of data modelling, data engineering, machine learning and artificial intelligence capabilities in solution designs where beneficial.
11. Contribute to architectural documentation, standards and design artefacts to ensure solutions are well-governed and traceable.
12. Support ongoing refinement of data architecture and solution patterns based on lessons learned during the regulatory change programme.
Essential Skills
13. Proven experience in a Data Solutions Architect or Data Systems Architect role, designing technical data solutions from enterprise-level strategies.
14. Strong background in data architecture, with the ability to translate high-level enterprise designs into detailed technical solution designs.
15. Hands-on experience working with key data platforms such as Databricks and SAP Datasphere.
16. Demonstrable experience working on large-scale, full life cycle change or transformation programmes, ideally with a regulatory focus.
17. Excellent workshop delivery and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage and manage multiple business and technical stakeholders.
18. Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts and business benefits clearly to non-technical audiences.
19. Solid business acumen, with the ability to align data solutions to organisational goals and regulatory requirements.
20. Ability to work effectively with stakeholders across different functions and levels of seniority.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
21. experience with data modelling techniques and best practices.
22. background in data engineering and understanding of data pipelines and integration patterns.
23. Familiarity with SAP Analytics Cloud for reporting and analytics solutions.
24. experience using Power BI to design and deliver business intelligence dashboards and reports.
25. Knowledge of Informatica for data integration and data management.
26. Exposure to machine learning and artificial intelligence concepts and their application in data solutions.
27. experience working within complex enterprise environments, ideally in regulated industries.

Work Environment
This role is UK-based with a hybrid working arrangement, combining remote work with regular on-site collaboration. You will travel to the office at least once a week, with some weeks requiring one or more additional days on site depending on project needs. You will work closely with cross-functional teams in a professional, collaborative setting that supports structured workshops, stakeholder meetings and design sessions. Standard professional office attire is expected when working on site, and you will use typical corporate IT equipment and collaboration tools to deliver your work.
