Purpose of the Role As a Credit Control Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the business to maximise cash flow by reducing aged debts and maintaining healthy client accounts. You will take ownership of a defined portfolio of clients, whether geographical or account-based, and build strong working relationships with internal teams and clients alike. This role requires a proactive approach where overdue balances are minimised and current debt is managed effectively to avoid escalation. You will use both process discipline and creative problem-solving to resolve issues at source and prevent them from recurring. Collaboration is central to this role. You will contribute as a supportive team member while also being able to work independently when required. Flexibility to take on new assignments within the credit control function is also expected. This position is offered as a 12-month fixed term contract. Key Responsibilities Managing the collection of outstanding balances across your client portfolio Reducing overdue balances and preventing debts from ageing further Maintaining accurate records within the accounting systems sales ledger Liaising with internal departments to resolve invoicing queries promptly Providing clients with up-to-date information on account status and aged debt Supporting the wider team with ad hoc requests and project work as needed Knowledge, Skills & Experience Previous experience in a credit control role Knowledge of SAP (advantageous) Strong skills in Microsoft Excel Experience working with multi-currency accounts Good understanding of general accounting processes Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
