Pay rate – £31.74 per hour Contract – Temporary Stockton on Tees Borough Council are currently recruiting experienced children’s Social Workers for their Pre-Birth team. Specialist Pre Birth Social Worker needed. An experienced social worker to focus upon pre-birth assessments and interventions. You will offer intensive assessment and intervention to parents and their families. As a Specialist Pre Birth Social Worker, you will: Coordinate and lead pre-birth assessments Deliver interventions Collaborate with housing, legal, and multi-agency partners to deliver holistic, child-centred outcomes. Maintain accurate, up-to-date case records in line with statutory guidance. Contribute to the development of best practice within this specialist area. You will need to have: A recognised social work qualification and registration with Social Work England. At least 3 years of post-qualification experience in statutory children’s services. Proven expertise in child protection, pre-birth assessments, and court work. Excellent communication, critical thinking, and report-writing skills. The ability to manage high-pressure situations and prioritise competing demands. Children’s Social Workers will need at least 3 years’ permanent experience with an English local authority and to be registered with Social Work England, as per DfE rules.
