The Role
We're hiring a Reliability & Operations Engineer to keep our products fast, accurate, and always on. You'll sit at the heartbeat of our daily operations, monitoring systems and content pipelines, resolving issues in real time, and automating workflows to help us scale.
What you'll do
* Own daily reliability: Monitor key metrics and alerts, triage anomalies, and drive quick fixes or escalations to keep uptime and data freshness high.
* Run production workflows: Manage recurring jobs (content updates, reporting, dashboards) and ensure they complete on schedule.
* Automate & document: Script repeatable tasks, improve runbooks, and turn manual steps into reliable, self-serve tools.
* Debug in production: Inspect logs, query APIs, and trace issues across services; follow through to root cause and prevention.
* Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner with product, content, and engineering to plan launches, tighten SLAs/SLOs, and improve observability.
* Support peak moments: Join a on-call rotation and occasionally cover evenings/weekends during major sports events.
What you'll bring
* 1–3 years in technical operations, reliability/SRE, support engineering, or data operations.
* Comfortable with a scripting language (JavaScript or Python); familiarity with a strongly-typed language (Rust/Java/C/C++) is a plus.
* Hands-on debugging skills: reading logs, calling API endpoints, basic troubleshooting on Linux/CLI and with HTTP tools.
* Experience with dashboards/metrics (e.g., Grafana/Datadog/Looker) and clear, concise documentation.
* Strong communicator who thrives in fast feedback loops and enjoys sports.
* Based in London and available to work on-site in Marylebone.
Nice to have
* Basic SQL for reporting and checks; experience with job schedulers or workflow tools (e.g., Airflow, Cron).
* Familiarity with CI/CD and version control (Git) and incident/post-mortem practices.
What we offer
* Competitive salary with clear progression as the role scales, plus private health insurance.
* A front-row seat at the intersection of sports × technology × data in a rapidly growing US-facing business.
* Real ownership from day one—your work directly impacts reliability and customer experience.
* Mentorship from senior teammates with backgrounds at Meta, Alibaba, and other global tech leaders.
* Growth in a scaling startup with pathways to leadership as we expand.
* Beautiful Marylebone office with a collaborative, high-energy vibe, plus a generous lunch allowance.
