Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer
Location: Greater Manchester
Salary: Up to £50k (depending on experience)
We’re working with a well-established engineering manufacturer designing highly specialised industrial machinery. The company operates a multidisciplinary engineering environment and is responsible for the full design lifecycle of complex equipment, from initial concept through to detailed engineering and production. The successful candidate will contribute to the design and development of complex machinery, taking responsibility for electrical design activities across projects.
About the Role
Manage electrical aspects of machine design projects.
Liaise with internal teams, external customers, and suppliers to support project delivery.
Design and develop electrical control circuits in accordance with relevant British and European regulations.
Select appropriate electrical components and cabling, considering circuit and environmental requirements.
Produce and maintain electrical design documentation, ensuring compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
Develop electrical drawings from initial creation through to updates and revisions.
Contribute ideas and suggestions to support continuous improvement in machine design.
Continue to develop existing technical skills and stay aware of industry developments and market trends. About You
HNC, HND, or BEng in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline).
5+ years’ experience working in an engineering or design environment.
Experience designing electrical circuits and low-voltage control panels.
Experience using Electrical CAD packages such as Zuken E3, Promis-e, RSWire, or EPLAN.
Knowledge of relevant British and European EN regulations to ISO13849.
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical instructions and procedures to suppliers and customers.
Experience using SAP BOM systems.
Exposure to Siemens PLC programming or fault finding.
Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
Willingness to travel internationally when required.
