Regional Authorising Engineer - This is regional position for a major contractors infrastructure division. If you are within the electrical compliance sector looking to step into a nationwide position this is a great opportunity for you. You will be based in their head office, but will attend sites across the rail, motorway, water and energy sectors. Purpose: To ensure that the company complies with the electrical safety rules and procedures and statutory legislation such as Electricity at Work Regulations. What you’ll do: Responsible for the administration, implementation, auditing of Infrastructure site(s) to ensure that Electrical Safety Rules and Procedures are being implemented and followed. Produce regular, accurate, detailed electrical audits, audit reviews and off-site reviews for the projects. Monitor the compliance of the safe systems of work. Produce technical bulletins on electrical regulation changes/updates and any safety issues. AE Electrical for industry sectors served by Infrastructure – AE Approved by their Chief Engineers. Assess and Appoint LV Authorised Persons for the sector Assess competence of sub-contractor electrical AP’s Conduct Authorised Person training for new AP’s and renewals for existing AP’s Conduct training for Competent Persons Conduct accident investigations and reports. Review Electrical certification. Support the contracts and help and assist closing out of non-conformances. Safe System of work development for High Voltage, Low Voltage and Hazardous Areas safety rules and procedures What you’ll achieve: Ensure safety, wellbeing, and responsibility toward the environment Conducts accident investigation reports following electrical failures of equipment or human failure. Communicate findings to Project and OU Leadership Teams Conducts due diligence on planned, reactive and project works and ensures electrical certification has been issued.
