We are looking for Children's Support and Personal Care Workers to join our team and assist with day-to-day support for Adolescence service users within Hertfordshire County Council Residential and Supported Living Units.
About the Role
We are seeking competent care assistants to support Adolescence people with physical and/or mental challenges in their everyday lives, enabling independence wherever possible. Our service users have varying needs, including:
1. Mild to severe learning disabilities
2. Mental health difficulties
3. Sensory impairments
4. Dysphagia and epilepsy

Key Responsibilities
Your duties will depend on the needs of the child you care for and may include:
5. Assisting with washing and dressing
6. Preparing meals and helping with feeding
7. Carrying out household tasks: shopping, tidying, cleaning, laundry
8. Building positive relationships and understanding individual needs and interests
9. Monitoring health and weight, recording any concerns
10. Following care plans, routines, guidelines, risk assessments, and Behaviour Management Plans
11. Ensuring prescribed medications are taken and administering medication (training provided)
12. Supporting mental and physical wellbeing through activities
13. Assisting with physical therapy exercises
14. Working collaboratively with social care and healthcare professionals
15. Providing mobility support: moving and handling, hoisting
16. Acting quickly and responsibly in emergencies
Skills & Qualifications
17. Sensitivity and understanding of people's needs
18. Ability to carry out household chores and cook nutritious meals
19. Patience and ability to remain calm under pressure
20. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
21. Attention to detail and strong organisational skills
22. Ability to work well under pressure and with different types of people
Experience Requirements
23. Minimum 6 months' experience working with vulnerable Adolescence people in a care home, hospital, or charity setting
24. Advanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check required
25. Previous childcare experience essential

26. Training and annual refresher training provided and paid for by Guidant Global
27. You must be able to communicate fluently in English, both verbally and in writing
28. Access to transport is essential to travel between sites across Brighton & Hove
