Building Physics Engineer : Insulation Materials : Hertfordshire / north London (with option of hybrid/homeworking up to 2 days per week)
A new vacancy for a Building Physics Engineer (INSULATION) with leading international provider of product testing, assessment and approval services for the Construction industry. Reporting in to the companys headquarters in the Hertfordshire / north London area, the Building Physics Engineer (INSULATION) will be responsible for planning, coordinating and conducting assessments on a wide range of construction products and systems related to Building Insulation. You will also be involved in preparing contract offers and estimates for the assessment of these products and systems. The Building Physics Engineer (INSULATION) will be required to research and investigate aspects of construction product and system performance, working as part of a team of specialists and contributing to team and individual targets and objectives. The role will be primarily office:based but wth the option of hybrid/homeworking up to 2 days per week. The company is looking for an ambitious engineer/scientist who is looking to further their career in a long:term role, with excellent opportunities for progression and further training (including professional qualifications and Engineering Charterships).
Key candidate requirements:
* Higher qualification in Physics or Mathematics or equivalent within a relevant technical discipline such as BUILDING PHYSICS/CONSTRUCTION.
* Good knowledge about the Construction Products made and their application in general, and INSULATION MATERIALS in specific.
* Strong technical background with an understanding and analysis of technical matters, particularly related to insulation and its application.
* Experience in U:value calculation and condensation risk analysis (NOT ESSENTIAL).
* Familiar with the use of thermal analysis software, such as THERM 3D, TRISCO, or JPA (NOT ESSENTIAL).
