We are looking for a dedicated and resilient Residential Care Worker to support young people (ages 8-17) in a looked‑after care setting. This role focuses on providing a stable, life‑changing environment for children who may have experienced trauma or have additional needs such as ASD or learning disabilities.
Location and Pay
Location: Ammanford (SA18)
Pay rate: £27,040
Key Responsibilities
* Daily Support: Manage meal preparation, cleaning, and transportation for young people while maintaining a safe, positive environment.
* Care Delivery: Implement individual care plans to promote emotional and social development.
* Safety & Compliance: Administer medication, maintain regulatory records, and address safeguarding concerns promptly.
* Relationship Building: Establish consistent boundaries and foster positive engagement with families and external agencies.
Candidate Requirements
* Essential Experience: Prior experience in children's homes, social work, or assisted living is required.
* Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of child development, safeguarding practices, and care regulations.
* Specialist Care: Experience working with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and physical/sensory disabilities.
* Attributes: A positive attitude toward de‑escalation practices and a commitment to personal development and training.
