The Community Frailty Service is looking to recruit an enthusiastic, organised and forward-thinking individual to join our Administration team.
As part of Blackpool Teaching Hospitals, we are a community service covering the Fylde Coast based across two sites, South Shore Primary Care Centre and Moor Park Health & Leisure Centre and support frail patients to live well and manage their Long Term Conditions.
The post holder will work as part of a Team alongside, a Consultant Geriatrician, GP's, Senior Clinical and Nursing staff.
Providing a high quality administration service, the post holder will be part of a wider Admin Team acting as a central point of contact for staff and patients. Having the ability to communicate effectively, work flexibly, adapt to change and use your own initiative is role incorporates a variety of tasks including, using multiple computer systems EMIS, Hospital systems NEXUS/MAXIMS and MS Packages such as Excel and Outlook. Other duties include acting as the first point of contact for all calls into the Service, providing MDT support and compiling reports using Excel.

Main duties of the job
Answering the telephone, you will be the first point of contact for patients, relatives, and other healthcare good understanding of computer systems including MS Packages in particular, Excel is essential. A working knowledge of EMIS Web is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.

5. To provide a comprehensive administration service within the Community Frailty Service.
6. Adding and processing of new referrals using EMIS and following the internal triage process.
7. Using hospital systems, EMIS, Maxims and NEXUS on a daily basis, ensuring information is recorded accurately
8. Dealing with incoming emails and correspondence and manage as per service processes.
9. Where required, to support the senior clinical team, effectively manage MS Outlook and EMIS diaries.
10. To receive both internal and external telephone calls, taking appropriate action to ensure all messages are received by relevant members of the Team and redirecting as necessary. All calls require appropriate documentation within the EMIS record.
11. When receiving calls from patients who may be unwell, escalate appropriately, update the EMIS record and add the patient to daily Telephone Triage list.

Qualifications
Essential
12. GCSE (or equivalent) in English & Maths grades 9 - 4
Desirable
13. Educated to NVQ Level 3 in a relevant subject or equivalent level of qualification
Experience and Skills

14. At least 2 years experience of working within a secretarial/clerical/administrative environment
15. Proven working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook
16. Strong communication skills, both oral and written
17. Ability to delegate to other members of the team.
18. Excellent organisational skills
19. Ability to produce reports from Excel spreadsheets to provide accurate data
