The University of Manchester is seeking a highly motivated and professional Fire Risk Assessor to join our Fire Safety Team within Estates & Facilities. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the safety and compliance of our diverse estate, covering accommodation, academic, and non-academic properties. You will be responsible for carrying out high-quality, ‘suitable and sufficient’ fire risk assessments across a variety of building types, ensuring the delivery of consistent and professional reports, action plans, and recommendations to support the University’s commitment to a safe environment for all staff, students, and visitors. We are looking for a candidate that can demonstrate: Relevant qualifications in fire safety/fire risk assessment. Strong knowledge of current fire safety legislation, standards, and best practice. Experience in producing professional fire risk assessments and reports across varied property types. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide clear advice and build effective relationships at all levels. Strong organisational and record-keeping skills, with attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a wider professional team. As an ideal candidate you will have: - Level 3 qualification in a Fire Risk Assessments. Professional Accreditation e.g., MIFSM, GIFireE/AIFireE/MIFireE. Fire Risk Assessor Register NAFRAR, IFE Life Safety Register etc. Meet the Intermediate level of BS8674 and working towards Advanced level to attain within 12months of start. Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Outlook and Excel. Excellent time management skills. Energetic towards team working, collaboration and university growth. Conscientious towards the health and safety of colleagues, students and visitors. Accountable for high volume projects and services.
