We're working with a highly reputable client in the fire and security sector who is looking to expand their field team. This is a fantastic permanent, full-time opportunity for a skilled Field Service Engineer to join a growing business and work across a regional patch.
The Role
As a Field Service Engineer, you’ll be responsible for:
Conducting planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on fire safety systems in line with BS5839
Attending emergency call-outs, performing fault-finding, and modifying existing systems
Providing outstanding customer service on-site and ensuring compliance with industry standards
Completing service reports and company documents in a timely and accurate manner
Communicating on-site issues and additional work requirements to the Field Services Manager
Supporting installation teams on occasion
Following strict health & safety procedures and always wearing appropriate PPE
What You’ll Need
Essential:
Previous experience as a Fire Alarm Engineer or similar field-based role
Strong fault-finding and system modification experience
Excellent communication and time-management skills
Full UK driving licence
IT proficiency (for service reports, scheduling, etc.)
FIA Foundation Certification and sound knowledge of BS5839
Desirable
Additional FIA training or specialist courses
Experience working in customer-facing field roles
Familiarity with quality audits and compliance procedures

Salary: £32,000–£37,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Working hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (40 hours/week)
Travel time paid after the first 30 minutes
Standby allowance: £150 per week when on the on-call rota
Overtime: Paid at time and a half after 40 contracted hours
Company van (with personal use potential depending on policy)
