Production Supervisor
Reporting to the Production Manager, you will manage and lead a small team of employees. Your responsibilities include communicating company goals, safety practices, and deadlines, motivating team members, assessing performance, and providing support to management through training and updates on team performance. You will also address concerns and policies with both team members and management.
1. Manage personnel, production, processes, and procedures on an hourly basis in your area.
2. Ensure quality control and adherence to health and safety systems.
3. Organize resources—people and products—to meet daily output targets, escalating issues promptly.
4. Monitor team performance and initiate performance-related discussions as needed.
5. Assist in implementing lean and continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on layout, push/pull systems, and one-piece flow, ensuring process compliance.
6. Maintain high standards of housekeeping and factory cleanliness.
7. Perform tasks necessary for smooth factory operations.
Key skills include leadership, team-building, analytical thinking, communication, and influencing abilities. The ideal candidate will be able to lead, coach, mentor, and communicate effectively across all levels, including executives and technical staff. A hands-on, proactive approach with attention to detail and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment is essential. Integrity, initiative, problem-solving skills, independence, teamwork, flexibility, and excellent communication skills are also required.
Education & Experience
* Experience in lean continuous improvement required.
* Formal training in Lean Manufacturing or working towards certification.
* Understanding of manufacturing business processes.
* Supervisory experience leading at least 5 people.
