* Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults using diagnostic equipment and manual methods.
* Perform repairs and component replacements, from minor fixes to more complex mechanical and electrical work.
* Conduct MOT testing (if certified) or support the MOT process to ensure vehicles meet DVSA standards.
* Road test vehicles after repair to ensure issues are resolved and work has been completed to specification.
* Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety standards, manufacturer guidelines, and company procedures.
* Accurately complete job cards, service sheets, and parts usage records to maintain clear audit trails.
* Liaise with service advisors, parts teams, and customers to provide updates on repair progress, costs, and recommendations.
* Advise customers on additional safety or preventative maintenance work that may be required.
* Keep the workshop, tools, and equipment clean, safe, and well maintained.
* Assist in training or mentoring junior technicians when required.
* Stay up to date with new vehicle technologies, diagnostic equipment, and industry best practice.
What We're Looking For:
* NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair.
* Solid workshop experience as a Vehicle Technician.
* MOT Testing certification (preferred, but not essential).
* Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
* A safety-first mindset and attention to detail.
* Excellent communication skills with a commitment to customer care.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced workshop.
What's on Offer:
* Salary between £28,000 - £34,000 depending on experience.
* Opportunities for professional training and development.
* A supportive, friendly team environment where your skills are valued.
* Stable, long-term employment with a respected local business.
