Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced SC Cleared Delivery Manager to support the delivery of large‑scale cloud and platform programmes within a complex government environment. This role requires an individual who can quickly establish credibility across multiple suppliers, delivery teams, and senior stakeholders, driving programme outcomes from day one. The successful candidate will operate with a high degree of autonomy, ensuring delivery remains on track while navigating governance, assurance, and compliance requirements. This is a delivery leadership role rather than a technical engineering role; however, a strong understanding of cloud‑native delivery, platform engineering, and modern DevOps practices is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud & Platform Programme Delivery (Non‑Negotiable)
* Proven track record delivering large‑scale cloud or platform transformation programmes
* Strong understanding of:
o Cloud‑native delivery models
o Platform engineering principles
o Modern DevOps operating models
* Experience delivering programmes involving cloud platforms, particularly Amazon Web Services (AWS)
* Ability to manage delivery across multiple technical workstreams while maintaining alignment to programme objectives
Delivery Leadership
* Own and drive delivery across cloud and platform workstreams
* Maintain focus on outcomes, delivery milestones, and benefits realisation
* Establish and maintain credible delivery plans
* Demonstrable experience managing delivery across multiple suppliers and delivery partners
* Proven ability to hold suppliers accountable for outcomes and delivery commitments
* Manage complex commercial and delivery relationships
* Drive collaboration across organisations with competing priorities
* Operate under assurance constraints, regulatory requirements, and compliance‑driven delivery environments
Technical & Domain Awareness
* Cloud platforms: AWS cloud services and operating models
* Cloud transformation programmes: landing zones and shared platform services
* Platform engineering & DevOps: CI/CD practices, infrastructure‑as‑code concepts, platform reliability and operational support models
* Product‑centric delivery approaches
* Live Service Operations: service reliability, operational governance, incident and change management principles
Planning & Governance
* Develop and maintain delivery plans, milestone tracking, and dependency management frameworks
* Support governance forums and assurance activities
* Ensure delivery remains aligned with programme objectives and governance expectations
Risk & Dependency Management
* Proactively identify and manage delivery risks, technical dependencies, resource constraints, and supplier issues
* Escalate issues appropriately while driving resolution
Stakeholder Management
* Build effective relationships with Senior Responsible Owners (SROs), programme leadership, technical leads, suppliers, and delivery partners
* Provide clear delivery reporting and recommendations
* Challenge stakeholders constructively when risks, assumptions, or dependencies threaten successful delivery
