Associate Cardiac Physiologist

We currently have an outstanding opportunity for a highly motivated Associated Practitioner in Cardiology to join our dedicated and friendly team at the Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
You will be responsible for performing a wide range of investigations including Exercise tolerance testing, Tilt Table Testing, Ambulatory Cardiac Analysis and hook-up.
You should be a self-motivated, well organised with excellent interpersonal skills. You should have the ability to prioritise and use your own initiative. You should have a flexible attitude and the willingness to travel between sites.
Main duties of the job
You will assist the Cardio Respiratory Manager in the provision of an efficient and cost effective service to the Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. To support the manager in ensuring compliance with and maintenance of professional standards at local and national level.
In this role you will fulfil a range of duties including leading 12 ECGs that are both routine and urgent for all directors. You will fit Ambulatory Cardiac Monitors as well as Arrhythmia Event Recorders. In addition, you will fit and download 24-hour Non-Invasive Blood Pressure Monitors.
Along with this, your role will involve general administrative duties. As a result, you will provide high quality personalised care in accordance with agreed local and national standards. You will also support in maintaining patient safety in line with Health and Safety legislation, policies, procedures and guidelines.

Actively try to resolve issues and complaints at local level and then report the outcome to line manager.

Person Specification
Qualifications & Education
* Foundation degree or higher
* Wiling to complete a professional body examination in electrocardiography
* Willing to complete an in-house training programme for assistant physiologists
* GCSE Maths & English Grade C or above or equivalent OR Functional Skills Level 2 Numeracy and Literacy
* Basic keyboard skills
* BLS/ILS certificate
* Professional body Certificate in electrocardiography or other relevant healthcare related qualification
* Demonstrate basic clinical skills
* Clear written and verbal communication
* Ability to follow instructions in accordance with policy procedures and guidelines
* Previous experience as a healthcare professional
* Experience of managing own time and workload
