What you will do:
As an Analytics Engineering Manager, you will ensure the consistent delivery of high‑quality, analytics‑ready data that underpins reporting, insights, and advanced analytics across the organisation. The role oversees the day‑to‑day coordination and quality assurance of analytics engineering, ensuring data pipelines, curated datasets, and analytical products are reliable, well‑governed, and delivered on time enabling trusted, scalable decision‑making across the business.
1. Oversee the day‑to‑day delivery of analytics engineering work, ensuring outputs are accurate, performant and aligned to agreed priorities
2. Manage analytic engineering backlogs, work allocation and sprint activities to maintain efficient and predictable delivery
3. Ensure the development and maintenance of curated datasets, transformation pipelines, semantic models and reusable analytic components
4. Enforce engineering standards including code quality, version control, testing, optimisation, documentation and peer review processes
5. Support the refinement and implementation of engineering patterns, templates and reusable frameworks across analytics engineering teams
6. Provide hands‑on technical guidance when needed, helping engineers resolve complex modelling, performance or data quality issues
7. Collaborate with Product Owners, Data Engineering, Data Visualisation and Advanced Analytics teams to ensure analytics‑ready data meets downstream needs
8. Apply governance and compliance requirements to analytic workloads, including lineage, metadata capture, data quality checks and audit readiness
9. Monitor workload performance, costs and operational reliability, taking action to remediate issues and optimise efficiency
10. Support prototype development, controlled experiments and iterative refinement of analytical products
11. Coach and mentor analytic engineers, helping to develop capability, support career growth and ensure consistent delivery approaches
12. Contribute to continuous improvement activities such as tooling upgrades, automation, documentation improvements and process optimisation
13. Any other duties that reasonably fall within the role

What you will need:
14. Experience managing or leading an analytics engineering, BI engineering or data transformation team.
15. Demonstrated experience delivering reusable analytical datasets, semantic layers or transformation pipelines.
16. Experience coordinating delivery in an agile or iterative analytics environment.
17. Proven ability to apply and enforce engineering standards such as testing, documentation, code reviews and CI/CD workflows.
18. Experience working with Product Owners, Data Engineers, BI Developers and Data Scientists to deliver integrated analytics solutions.
19. Experience working in complex data environments or regulated sectors.
20. Hands on experience troubleshooting analytical modelling, data quality and performance issues.
21. Professional training or certification in analytics engineering, data engineering, BI engineering or cloud analytics (or equivalent practical experience).
