Your new role
* Your job title will be Assistant General Counsel - Senior Manager, working within a small team as part of a larger global department.
* Provide legal support on a wide range of legal and regulatory matters for a global professional services organisation.
* Advise on day-to-day matters including contracts, corporate governance, technology, privacy, data security, regulatory compliance, and other commercial and regulatory issues.
* Help manage the organisations compliance with relevant laws and regulations across jurisdictions and network policies.
* Support Risk Management and Finance by providing legal support for their activities.
* Assist in managing the legal needs of global delivery centre subsidiaries.
* Develop and implement governance, operational policies, procedures, and playbooks.
* Review and advise on new services and solutions, including governance processes and specialised legal issues.
* Manage external legal counsel in multiple jurisdictions, ensuring cost-effective and efficient work.
* Balance practical, business-focused advice with managing departmental risk appetite and compliance obligations.
* Make presentations and write articles on important legal topics.
* Mentor and support junior team members.
* Develop collaborative relationships across the network of member firms.
What youll need to succeed
* UK-qualified lawyer (or equivalent outside the UK) with significant experience at a major law firm.
* Private practice experience with regulatory law and exposure to data protection.
* 8-12 years post-qualification experience (guideline only).
* Expert legal skills with the ability to lead complex legal and regulatory matters.
* Strategic risk management skills with the ability to identify issues and suggest mitigation strategies.
* Ability to work independently and manage complex files, collaborating with business teams and legal colleagues.
* Ability to balance the needs of a fast-growing global business with legal and compliance risk management.
* Self-motivated with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, global environment.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
